Always learned lessons, grabbed teachings …. Grabbed? Snatched? Clutched? Have you learned all these from mythology?

  • The rape of Chrysippus by Laius was known as “the crime of Laius“, a term which came to be applied to all male rape that was apparently considered to be a personality of fool’s pride and eventually made the entire male hierarchy of Laius undergo the severe punishment. – Roman mythology
  • In Islamic criminal jurisprudence, the overwhelming majority of Muslim scholars believe that there is no punishment for a lady forced to have sex. -Islam
  • In the course of warfare, ancient enough to have been mentioned in the Bible, the losing faction might become slaves and raped as they lacked legal protections against rape and might be exploited as prostitutes or non-consensual sexual companions.
  • And the very popular one, The Ramayana epic comprises of a shocker that many of the people are unaware of.

Ahilya, the most beautiful woman in the world was being watched by the king of demigods, Indra. He was enticed by her beauty and had a heinous wish to possess her. He spotted sage Gautam leaving his hut to bathe. Seeking the full advantage of this chance, Indra changed his appearance and went inside the hut where Ahilya was alone. Under a false pretense of being her husband, Indra raped Ahilya. Indra was about to leave after finishing, however sage Gautam returned. He was furious with the fact that his wife had carnal relations with another man.

Eventually, Indra lost his testicles due to the curse Gautam placed on him. He then turned on to Ahilya who fell to her husband’s feet. She pleaded her innocence to her husband and begged him to forgive her. In the furious state of mind, he cursed her to turn into a stone. Ahilya continued to weep and beg for forgiveness as the transformation took place. Succumbed with mercy, sage Gautam then told the antidote to the curse that when Vishnu comes in the avatar of Ram he will liberate her.

Devi ahilya and Gautam rishi

Within a few thousand years, Indra regained his testicles by praying to Surya. After regaining his testicles he went back to heaven where he continued to rule the throne of heaven. However, Ahilya waited sixty thousand years for Ram to come to her hut.

Denotative seems true: SEX GOD

By now you must have known what the article wants to say to you.

RAPE IS APE, Do you believe in Darwinism????

This is probably the harsh reality for many rape survivors across the globe. They are left to deal with the impact for life. Rapist, if convicted, will complete his sentence, and people will feel he has been punished and will thereby resume his life full of pleasures like he left. However, the woman will forever be maligned or ashamed because of what happened. Our society will continue to punish her, be it through consoling her, adjudging her unfit to marry their son, or categorizing her as unchaste.

This is very well depicted through “what was sown in past has the bitter fruits in future too”.

  • Damini rape case
  • Nirbhaya rape case
  • Gayatri rape case
  • Paedophile arrested
  • Prison Rapes

All these kinds of cases occur every day and every second news snippet has a verdict of the same in this modern era.

Women, Minor Girls, boys and men all are prone to Rape by paedophiles who cannot quench their thirst for sex until sentenced. Some unconscionable rapists get released on bail through will and power while others do not get reported of their sinful act.

Where the World is advancing, becoming smart, rapists are becoming even smarter that even some must be reading this article too. They seem to follow Carpe Diem.LOL!

Stand Against Rape

  1. Rape victims fall prey to the heinous hearts of the cruelest mindsets. Or should I say, to the hollow shells with no heart!

  2. Again a good one smriti. What is your solution to the problem or what amendments in the present laws can be done to punish the accused?

    • Well, if it’s about solution, for every sin there should be some equal damnation/punishment imposed and as far as I believe the accused should get the same shame or treatment as has been confronted by the victim.
In the jurisprudence, however, I would like to change the bail terms. The laws for this particular rape section are worthy only if the bail terms are a bit improvised,i.e. in favour of the right and not the power. #Indianlegislature

  3. Our society teaches”Don’t Get Raped rather than Don’t Rape”. We are the socity and we are the culprits.we are the rapist and we are the victims. We have to confront ourselves. We have to be the change, we want to see. And if we can’t, may be its time, we realise we have failed miserably in our so called civilisation.
